But from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother (and be joined to his wife), and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate. (Mark 10:6-9). MARRIAGE PREPARATION
In the Catholic Church, the Sacrament of Matrimony is a life-long commitment forming a covenantal union between a man and a woman for the purpose of the good of the spouses and the procreation and raising of children. Marriage Preparation is a process to help Engaged Couples discern what the marriage commitment is about, their readiness to make this commitment, and the help and support that is given in the Sacrament of Matrimony as well as resources for a joyful wedded life.
The process begins by making a call to the Parish Office at 425-353-1211 at least 6 months before the intended wedding. We will help you with the initial forms that you will be need in order to set a meeting with the Pastor. For couples who have a prior marriage, the marriage preparation is more involved. At the time of this initial meeting, the date and time of your wedding ceremony is set by the Pastor. Once the date and time of the wedding ceremony is set, the wedding reception can be scheduled. Once this meeting has taken place, the marriage preparation process can begin. We ask that you allow yourselves at least 6 months for the completion of the process.
We look forward to working with you and helping you make this life-long commitment.
