Stewardship

WE ARE A STEWARDSHIP PARISH - A WAY OF LIFE FOR US ALL

St. Mary Magdalen Parish and St. John Mission are embarking on the adventure of forming our parish into a Stewardship Parish! We want to bring a Catholic culture into our whole lives, so that again like in the early Christian communities, people may know we are Catholic by our love for one another and by the activities that we as parish offer to help foster this spirit of Christ in our lives and in our parish. We see stewardship as a way of life and the way in which we carry out our parish mission: to proclaim the Gospel, and to know, to love, and to serve the Lord.

We believe that Christ handed the responsibility to His people to share our faith with family, friends, strangers and in our work places. We are called to witness our faith to others, in the way we live, in the way we teach our children, and in our acts of faith. Our stewards can be seen providing classroom instruction, decorating, cleaning, gardening, at adoration, others visit the sick and comfort the bereaved. Not only do we provide for the needs of the Church, but we believe that these acts of gratitude further build our personal relationship with Christ.

We believe that everyone has something important to contribute. Please take time to prayerfully discern your gifts and consider how God would have you use them.

Our Parish Stewardship Committee for St. Mary Magdalen Parish/St. John Mission met for the first time last week. We ask for the prayers of all our parishioners that this committee will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to promote what will bring us all closer together and most of all, closer to Our Lord. If you have questions or suggestions for this committee, please contact Darlene Nex or Mary Reed at the parish office.
