Christian
Burial

Eternal God, when you give the sign,
we who have been redeemed by the death of your Son
shall be raised up to the glory of his Resurrection.

cf. Roman Missal, Preface for the Dead IV

Arranging the Funeral

To start the process for having a funeral or burial celebrated at our parish, please contact Michelle McIntyre, Parish Secretary, and, as a staff, we will guide you through the steps —starting with scheduling an appointment with one of the priests. And, though we prioritize the burial of the departed, a vibrant parish life lends itself to a busy schedule — so please reach out to us before arrangements are made for the date of burial.

Rites of Burial

“Christians celebrate the funeral rites to offer worship, praise, and thanksgiving to God for the gift of a life which has now been returned to God, the author of life and the hope of the just. The Mass, the memorial of Christ's death and resurrection, is the principal celebration of the Christian funeral.” (Order of Christian Funerals, 5).

You can learn more about Catholic funerals and burial on the website of the American bishops’ conference.
